    Judges for contests are on a TBA basis.
    Trophies will be awarded to the artists and prizes to the wearers.

    Contest Descriptions:

                    Handmade Tattoo Machine Contest: Awards 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Any machine constituting handmade applications ie., frame casting/carving/CNC'ed, coil winding, knowledge of taps and dies, etc. Machines will be judged three characteristics, smooth running ability or cleanliness of a ten minute run at optimum running speed, practicality within the workplace and innovation of design. Machines constructed from frames not built by the entrant will not be accepted. Free to enter for convention artists, vendors and attendees. $10.00 entrance fee for anyone not attending the convention.

                    Best use of Line Work Contest: Awards 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Constituting large and small tattoos or any tattoo of which the basis for is black or colored bold lines. The judging being based on the consistency of the line work.The judging being based on clarity or readability of the tattoo and the technical application of the tattoo. Free to enter for convention artists, vendors and attendees. $10.00 entrance fee for anyone not attending the convention.

                    Best use of Minimal Line Work Contest: Awards 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Constituting large and small tattoos; including portraiture work, realism or any tattoo with a minimal amount of lines used or no lines at all. The judging being based on clarity or readability of the tattoo and the technical application of the tattoo. Free to enter for convention artists, vendors and attendees. $10.00 entrance fee for anyone not attending the convention.

                    Best Traditionally Influenced Tattoo Contest: Awards 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Constituting large and small tattoos; including sailor jerry inspired work, bold line work and a simpler style of shading and color. The judging being based on clarity or readability of the tattoo and the technical application of the tattoo.

                    Best Asian Art Influenced Tattoo Contest: Awards 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Constituting large and small tattoos; including work in which the basis of the design was inspired by Asian art or mythology. The judging being based on clarity or readability of the tattoo and the technical application of the tattoo. Free to enter for convention artists, vendors and attendees. $10.00 entrance fee for anyone not attending the convention.

                    Best Realism with in a Tattoo Contest: Awards 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Constituting large and small tattoos; including color or black and grey work. An understanding of the minimal use of line work and an understanding of light and dimension should be apparent in the tattoo work. The judging being based on clarity or readability of the tattoo and the technical application of the tattoo. Free to enter for convention artists, vendors and attendees. $10.00 entrance fee for anyone not attending the convention.

                    Tattoo of the Day Contest: Awards 1st place only but takes place once once a day, each day of the convention. Contest only open to tattoo convention artists, vendors and attendees. Any tattoo done at the convention or worn by convention participants may be entered.

                    Best of Show Contest: 1st place only and takes place only on Sunday. Award given to the artist who has created a tattoo that exemplifies the highest knowledge of tattooing. Based on the quality of work seen created throughout the weekend, an understanding from the artist of overall cleanliness and professionalism in the tattoo environment and a considered "overall" vote from convention attendees.
